These 10 People Have the Most Coin on the Continent

Just in case you needed a reminder of how insignificant your savings are, here it is.

Forbes has put the microscope over the personal finances of Australia’s caviar eating, champagne swilling elite to identify the ten people with the most money in the country.

Unsurprisingly, they’re all pretty weathered, wear expensive suits and can be found atop some of Australia’s biggest companies.

Comfortably perched on a mahogany framed chesterfield at the top of the list is the generously proportioned Gina Rinehart.

And here are the other nine human banks:

  1. Gina Rinehart, mining, $US11.7b

  2. Harry Triguboff, property, $US5.6b

  3. Frank Lowy, retail, $US5b

  4. James Packer, casinos, $US4.7b

  5. Ivan Glasenberg, mining, $US4.4b

  6. John Gandel, retail, $US3.6b

  7. Anthony Pratt, manufacturing, $US3.5b

  8. Kerr Neilson, investment, $US3b

  9. Lindsay Fox, transport, $US2.9b

  10. Andrew Forrest, mining, $US2.1b

All bow down to Australia’s ten most almighty aristocrats.
