Glorified Lunchbox Startup Raises Over $140,000 in One Week

Do you like lunch? Wait, let me rephrase that.

Do you really, really like lunch? Particularly bringing your own lunch from home to places that aren’t your home?

Well throw your stupid old Tupperware containers out the god damn window, friend, because US startup Prepd have come up with a revolutionary lunchbox that will make your head explode.

Yes, you heard me – lunchbox.

I can’t say that I’ve ever been so stoked on lunch that I would invest in a lunchbox that has a companion app, but hey, each to their own.

In all honesty, I can see the appeal – a sleek looking pack that has nifty little customisable compartments and an app that tracks the nutritional value of your meals is definitely an area that has been neglected in the lunch scene.

“Prepd Pack consists of a beautifully designed case, a premium modular system of containers and smart magnetic cutlery.” THAT’S MAD!

So much aesthetic.

Regardless of your stance on lunch and lunch related apparatus, raising that kind of coin in such a short period of time is extremely impressive and shows a fairly high amount of interest in the product. Not very much bad at all!

My eyes see Bento Box, but my stomach sees last nights’ pasta.

“We have engineered every element so you can trust that your food is secure and sealed, without compromising the pure and modern aesthetic.”

So pure. So modern. So lunchbox.

IT’S A LUNCHBOX FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! If I cared that much about how ~sleek~ and ~modern~ I looked when I transported my lunch to work, I’d buy a limited addition aluminium Star Wars lunchbox with the little briefcase handle because Star Wars is the tits.

But don’t let me stop you from turning your lunch-bus into a tiny, minimalist apartment dwellers wet dream, go and throw some money behind them on their kickstarter.

I’ll be here in the corner with my Star Wars box and a Vegemite sandwich with the crust cut off. Fight me.
