Good news, job hunters. The local employment scene is about to start exploding jobs.
Hiring intentions among local businesses have absolutely rocketed with 18.7 per cent of employers intending to increase permanent staffing levels in the first three months of 2015.
So, if you walk down a city street today, about every fifth business owner should be standing out the front with open arms. That’s the low down from recruitment company Hudsons, who take the pulse of the nation’s job prospects every quarter.
The surging statistics for Q1 2015 mark the highest quarter on quarter increase since 2010.
And it’s good news for those canvassing for contract roles too, with 14 per cent of employers intending to increase their contracting and temporary workforce at the start of 2015 too.
If you’re out of work, these sorts of figures could be just the Festivus miracle you’ve been hoping for.

Industry wise, bean-counting is booming, with 36.9 per cent of financial services managers ready to open the interview doors next year.
This juicy bit of research ties in with the latest ANZ job ads data, which shows demand for staff is already getting stronger, with the number of job ads up in November for the sixth consecutive month.
