Listen up all you beer swilling, perpetually wanderlust ridden maniacs out there, because you’re gonna wanna get all up in this piece of information.
According to the Washington City Paper, The Smithsonian National Museum of American History is hiring a ‘Beer Histroian/Scholar’ in the US for a three year stint. The annual salary is around $85,000 ($US64,650). The very thought of being paid to drink beer is making my mouth water.
The lucky SOB that scores the job will be required to travel the US, drink mad froths and research the history of American brewing.
While the job is open to all, the successful candidate will be someone with actual experience as a historian or scholar and “an advanced degree in American business, brewing, food, cultural, or similar specialisation within history,” says the application.
Sorry, buying the recently released vintage VB tinnies with the original 1958 logo does not make you a beer historian or scholar. I can, however, confirm that tinnies are fkn SICK.
Furthermore, the role would require some actual work amongst the deluge of delicious, frothy bevs. The successful applicant will also need to develop content for the museum along with programs based on their research. This could all be rather difficult considering there’s a strong chance you’ll be sporting a hangover for the majority of the journey.
Think you have what it takes to be the ultimate beer lord? Get your application in before August 10.
